Morty Diamond is a transgender performance artist, filmmaker and writer originating from Los Angeles, California. Some of the primary ideas in his work are deconstruction of gender, power dynamics, erotic methodology, and public personas. Morty’s first anthology From the Inside Out, FTM and Beyond, published in 2004, was nominated for a Lambda Literary Award and was given continuous positive reviews in magazines such as Curve, Bust and the Brooklyn Rail, it is now in its second printing.

His first feature length film, Trannyfags, has garnered international attention for being the first pornographic movie that highlights gay transmen. He has traveled to places such as Mexico City and Berlin to present this groundbreaking film. Morty has been a visiting guest lecturer to universities across the country including NYU, Vassar, Brown, and Columbia.

Morty has a strong love for performance art and has performed in public spaces, theaters and festivals around New York City. His ongoing public performance art includes the work “Ask A Tranny” in which Morty sits in a public place and allows the public to ask anything about his life as a transman.

In addition, Morty has been a sex educator for over three years, teaching at colleges, universities, private workshops, and at the feminist sex toy store Babeland. The various workshops he has taught include a beginners guide to sex toys titled “Sex Toys 101”, as well as a tutorial about anal sex for men titled “Bend Over Your Boyfriend”.
