From the Inside Out, FTM and Beyond
Manic D Press

Born female yet little identified with that gender, these transgender, genderqueer, third gender, and gender variant writers offer personal insights into changing gender identity, dating, workplace issues, and more. This book shines light on those who identify as FTM (female to male) and also illuminates those whose gender is more fluid, proving that biology doesn't control destiny.

What the critics are saying about From the Inside Out:

“The many facets of this book sparkle like a jewel.”
- Leslie Feinberg, author of Transgender Warriors

“Writer-photographer-musician Morty Diamond, an energetic, quirky cross between Andy Warhol and a young Paul McCartney, didn't dig the standard-issue pink ensemble he got 28 years ago, and he came out as transgender at the age of 24.”
- Tristan Taormino, The Village Voice

“An important element of From the Inside Out is that it manages to avoid the obscurantism and tortuous prose characteristic of much academic writing on the subject of gender… With refreshing clarity, most of the contributors particularize their disengagement from society’s hegemonic system of gender; a system which demands congruence between the body and one’s psychological understanding of oneself as masculine or feminine (an understanding that often is grounded in definitions promulgated by mainstream society)…”
- Electronic Journal of Human Sexuality, Vol. 8

Gendered Hearts

An honest discussion of sex, love, relationships and marriage from transgender writers and their partners.

Edited by Morty Diamond

Looking for first person stories from transgender writers as well as those who are partners of or have partnered with someone transgender on the experience of dating, sex, relationships, and finding love.

**Gendered Hearts is an anthology celebrating the intricacies of dating, sex, the possibility of love, and finding that special someone while discovering how to break away from gender norms and the rules that surround gender identity.

Topic examples: hilarious or heartbreaking dating stories, transitioning within a relationship, starting families, passing/not passing and how this affects our choices for dating, meeting our partners families, the idea of marriage - legal or otherwise, online dating, anonymous sex, sex and dating before and after surgery and/or hormones, how we negotiate sex, relationships surviving a partners transition. I strive to make this anthology as diverse as possible within age, race, sexuality, and gender identity. This book will also include writers from outside the US.

I encourage writing that goes beyond the topical and gives the reader a three dimensional view on the subject you choose to write about.

The length of your work should be between 2,000 and 3,000 words. Sexually explicit work is ok. Please include a short biography with your work. Please submit your writing as a Word attachment via email to: newtransanthology@gmail.com

The deadline for this book has been extended to August 2007
