What is a workshop?

A workshop is a 90 minute participatory group discussion and educational experience. I have taught workshops and have been a visiting artist for many colleges and universities including: NYU, Brown, Sarah Lawrence, Vassar, and Columbia. I speak on various topics that spans from transgender sex and sexuality to performance and video art. I utilize multimedia tools in many of my workshops and lectures to give a better understanding of the material. My workshops/lectures can be tailored to fit specific needs and there is no minimum amount of people required to hold a private workshop. To discuss price and availability please contact Morty at morty@mortydiamond.com

Trans 101

I have taught this workshop for universities, non-profits, and corporations that are looking for a better understanding of transgender history and experience. In this workshop I discuss gender basics, transgender basics, trans identities, and an overview of the transition process. I talk a lot about myths and misconceptions about trans people and allow plenty of time for questions throughout the class.

Sex Toys 101
Sex toys are a great way to enhance any relationship or to vary up your own masturbation rituals, but there are so many different types of toys on the market, it's hard to know what ones to buy and how to use them. This class teaches the basics about various toys, including the latest sex toys, and teaches the where and how to find what you're looking for. I also go over safer sex supplies and how to use them properly. This workshop can be tailored to a transgender audience.
What you'll take away from this class:
• The differences between dildos and vibrators, the materials that they're made out of, how to use them and how to clean them
• Harness and dildo 101, what you need to know to pick out the best one for you.
• How couples can incorporate sex toys into their relationship.
• The different types of lubes and condoms available and how to find one that's right for
you.

Transmen in the nude: Gender, Sex, Pornography, and Art

In this workshop I discuss the role transmen (female-to-male transsexuals) have in erotic art and the porn industry. I start the workshop with a history of transgender people in erotic films and go deeper into how transmen have weaved in and out of this timeline. I include my own personal experience of making pornography that features transmen and discuss what the sociological impact these images have in society. I show many porn clips as well as erotic photographs and give plenty of time at the end for a question and answer session.

Transgender Performance Art: History and Personal Experience

This workshop opens up the world of performance art that focuses on gender, sex, and the lines that cross between the two. I use slideshows and video to demonstrate various artists that have broadened the idea of gender identity and fluidity in their work. This workshop includes a discussion of my last performance pieces: “Ask A Tranny” in which I sit in various public spaces and allow the public to ask me anything about my life a transman and “My Year In Pink” a performance piece in which I spent a whole year wearing only the color pink, what my daily experiences were and what the various public reactions were.
